Rotaract is a global organization of young professionals and students aged 18 and above who work together to create positive change in their communities and the world. It is a part of the Rotary International family and focuses on leadership development, service & community impact, professional growth and networking opportunities.

While both Rotaract and Rotary share the same core values of “Service Above Self,” there are key differences:

● Rotaract is designed for young adults (18+), focusing on local and youth-driven initiatives.

● Rotary is primarily for professionals and community leaders of any age, often leading larger-scale projects. Both collaborate on projects and contribute to global humanitarian efforts, with Rotary clubs often sponsoring and mentoring Rotaract clubs.

Rotaract is built on five key pillars that guide its missions and values:

Service: Rotary is dedicated to providing humanitarian service to communities both locally and globally. The organization focuses on making a difference through various service projects.

Fellowship: Building strong relationships and connections is a core principle. Rotary offers opportunities for networking, collaboration, and mutual support among its members.

Diversity: Rotary values diversity within its membership, encouraging individuals from different backgrounds, professions, and cultures to come together for the common good.

Integrity: Rotary promotes high ethical standards in all areas of life. Members are expected to uphold integrity in their personal, professional, and public lives.

Rotaract clubs focus on a wide range of impactful community service projects aligned with Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus. These include:

1. Maternal & Child Health – Supporting prenatal care and healthcare services for mothers and children.

2. Disease Prevention & Treatment – Organizing health camps, vaccination drives, and mental health awareness initiatives.

3. Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) – Providing access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education.

4. Basic Education & Literacy – Supporting schools, providing learning materials, and organizing adult literacy programs.

5. Community Economic Development – Empowering communities through entrepreneurship support, vocational training, and sustainable livelihood projects.

3. Go through Membership stages

The membership process includes three stages:

○ Guest: Attend events to explore what Rotaract is all about.

○ Prospective Member: Demonstrate active participation in club activities.

○ Induction: After a vote by the club members, you’ll be officially inducted as a Rotaractor! Interested?

Rotaract clubs work on both local and international initiatives. We collaborate with clubs worldwide on global issues like disease prevention, water & sanitation, education & literacy, peace and conflict resolution.

Many Rotaractors travel abroad to participate in global projects and leadership events.

Our club is funded through:

● Monthly membership fees: These support club operations and events (including fellowships).

● Fundraising events: We organize events to raise funds for our activities.

● Sponsorships & donations: We seek sponsorships and donations, especially for specific projects.

● Support from Rotary: Rotary helps us fund and support our projects.
