Strategy. Planning. Execution.

2025-2024

On the occasion of International Dogs Day this year, the Rotaract Club of Phoenix organized a Pet Drive! Held at Intermart Ebene on the 24th August 2024, the aim was to support the local NGO PAWS in the wonderful work they do, from rescuing stray animals to rehabilitating them for adoption. We also raised funds towards the repair of their animal shelters.

2025-2024
Earlier this year in Jan-Feb 2024, our members crafted ten poufs with much love and care, by upcycling paint buckets and meticulously stitching comfortable material onto each. In August 2024, our poufs finally made it home at Zardin Colibri – a wonderful community hub that blends nature and art. Found in Beau-Bassin, this lovely initiative creates a safe and welcoming space for children locally to thrive in. We are so happy that our poufs will add to this experience for kids to enjoy!
2025-2024
On the occasion of World Cleanup Day 2024, we rolled up our sleeves and got into action for a cleaner Mauritius! Our cleanup campaign focused on tackling pollution around Phoenix, covering areas from roads to riverbeds. While it was a rewarding day, this experience brought to light the importance of raising awareness on pollution.
2025-2024
On October 12th 2024, we hosted a breast cancer screening event where 50+ women were able to undergo a free breast cancer screening through palpation and ultrasound, alongside guidance from a medical practitioner about how to perform self-examinations. Spreading awareness about breast cancer is incredibly important as it is the leading cancer in both incidence and mortality rates in Mauritius. Identifying signs and symptoms at early stages is essential to ensuring access to treatment at the earliest. Thank you to our collaborators Emirates Airlines Swimming Pool and Sports Complex, Link to Life and Artemis Curepipe Hospital, who all played pivotal roles in the success of this event.
2025-2024
This holiday season, we organized a collection of school materials to provide children in need with essential items to begin their academic year on the right foot. All donations went towards Zardin Colibri, a local NGO based in Beau Bassin. Their organization does remarkable work in supporting kids by providing an environment that is conducive to their learning and well-being, and it is our pleasure to contribute to their mission. Thanks to our incredible donors, we were able to provide 20 students aged 4 to 18 with the stationery they need to learn, create, and grow.
2025-2024
The rainwater harvesting project was initiated at Le Lycée Mauricien College back in 2023. The aim of this project was to provide a sustainable solution that reduces the school’s reliance on the water authority, by enabling them to use the water for gardening as well as cleaning. Since its first installation, we have actively monitored and improved the project to amplify its positive, long-term impact. In November 2024, we added a final touch: a tap system, facilitating the use of the rainwater collected.
2025-2024
Every family deserves a hearty meal! This holiday season we carried out a food drive to support families in need by donating essential items such as: rice, pasta, flour, canned foods, milk, eggs, biscuits, and cereals. These were gifted to underprivileged families in the Phoenix region, to brighten their new year celebrations.
